The TDS 2024 College Soccer previews continue with a glance into the Horizon League, OVC, MVC, and SoCon men’s soccer conferences.

Jamie Davies, North Florida(m)

An experienced figure who has spent ten years as an assisting and recruiting coordinator at the DI level with Georgia State and then UCF, Davies offers North Florida one of the most experienced first-time coaches available in this cycle. The Ospreys have managed just one winning season in eight years, highlighting an immediate area of much-needed improvement.

Paul Doroh, Oakland(m)

Seamless coaching staff transitions can be important to maintaining a winning college soccer culture, and Oakland has managed that with Doroh stepping in after eight seasons as an assistant coach. Having competed for the school as a student-athlete, Doroh will have a unique vision and understanding of the school’s culture and how to build for the future.

Tennant McVea, Old Dominion(m)

Another in-house hire, McVea will take the lead job after seven seasons as an associate head coach. The former college All-American has shown outstanding recruiting and development traits in his tenure, assets he can rely on in a brutal Sun Belt conference.

John O’Reilly, Wisconsin-Green Bay(m)

Continuing the trend of in-house hires, O’Reilly is the new Phoenix head coach after nine seasons as an assistant. And with the team winning the 2023 conference championship, their first since 2009, O’Reilly is taking on a squad that is on the rise.

Tim Regan, Bradley(m)

A former MLS star and Bradley hall-of-fame player, Regan brings an impressive playing and coaching resume to Bradley. And with six years on the books as an assistant with his alma mater, look for the Braves to emerge from the shadows as a regional force.

Allen Vital, East Tennessee State(m)

Vital may be taking his first DI coaching job, but this is as experienced as coaches and winners come. The seven-time SAC coach of the year spent 30 years at the DII level coaching Carson-Newman and then Tusculum, two Tennessee-based institutions that will give Vital an expert feel on the state recruitment and soccer culture.

Krystian Witkowski, Fairfield(m)

Fairfield is in for a treat as they land Witkowski, one of the best recruiters in college soccer. The first-time head coach had strung together nationally ranked recruiting classes at Army West Point and Northwestern before taking the Fairfield job in January. With that experience of what it takes to bring elite talent into two vastly different environments, look for the Stags to reach new heights in the coming years.
