Adam Saldana signs with LA Galaxy II
Another U.S. youth international is making the jump to the pro ranks as a teenager.
Midfielder Adam Saldana signed a professional contract with LA Galaxy II, the club announced this week. Saldana recently helped the U.S. Under-17 MNT qualify for this year's World Cup in April at the Concacaf Championship.
“We are excited for Adam to begin his professional career with the LA Galaxy organization,” LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese said in a press release. “He is a talented midfielder with great potential. Our club’s structure and vision allows young players like Adam to develop into top-rated talent. We are enthusiastic about his future within our club."
Saldana joined the Galaxy organization in 2018, after spending several years at Real So Cal in the Development Academy. Born in 2002, he was a regular with the U.S. Under-15 BNT, and has gone on to make 23 appearances for the Under-17s. At this year's Concacaf qualifying tournament, he appeared in six games as the U.S. fell in the final against Mexico.
Along with that, Saldana has appeared in 12 games for the LA Galaxy Academy, and made his USL debut in September 2018 for LA Galaxy II. He is currently competing with the Galaxy Under-17 side at this year's playoffs in Oceanside, Calif.
